Overview
Gita Yatra helps users study the Bhagavad Gita through verses, explanations, quizzes, and progress tracking. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can request deletion.
Information We Collect
- Email address, used for account creation, login, email verification, and password reset.
- Username and display name, used to identify your profile inside the app.
- Learning progress, including completed verses, quiz activity, streaks, language preference, and app settings.
- Feedback you choose to submit, including the text of your report or suggestion.
- Analytics events, such as app opens, sign-up and login events, screen navigation, quiz starts/completions, language changes, and account actions.
- Crash and diagnostic data, used to understand app failures and improve stability.
How We Use Information
We use collected information to provide your account, save learning progress, verify email ownership, reset passwords, measure whether the app is working well, fix crashes, prevent abuse, and improve the learning experience.
Third-Party Processors
Gita Yatra uses service providers to run the app and measure reliability. These may include Railway for backend hosting and database infrastructure, Resend for transactional email, Firebase for analytics and crash reporting, and Google Play services for Android distribution. These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to Gita Yatra.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with the processors listed above, when required by law, or when necessary to protect the app and its users.
Security and Retention
Data is transmitted over HTTPS in production. Account information and learning progress are retained while your account exists. Diagnostic and analytics records may be retained by our processors according to their standard retention settings.
Account Deletion
You can delete your account in the Gita Yatra app from Profile > Delete Account. Deleting your account removes your profile, account credentials, saved learning progress, streak data, app settings, and feedback associated with your account. This action is permanent.
You can also request account deletion by emailing support@gitayatra.com from the email address linked to your account.
Children
Gita Yatra is not intended for children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when the policy changes.
